Job summary

Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is seeking a Behavior Analyst to develop behavior management programs for students with diverse backgrounds and needs within the Office of Student Services. The role requires collaboration with classroom staff and program supervisors to observe behaviors and collect baseline data.

The position involves occasional travel across Montgomery County, PA, a Monday–Friday schedule, and salary placement on the salary schedule depending on experience and education

Qualifications

  • BCBA certification required.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Valid PA driver's license; travel to classrooms throughout Montgomery County.
  • Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and basic computation; able to operate standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation to teachers and program supervisors on observing students with behavior problems and data collection.
  • Develop behavior program descriptions for specific students.
  • Develop behavior management programs for classrooms and students.
  • Assist with IEP revisions to implement behavior modification programs.
  • Attend IEP meetings with parents, teachers, and program supervisor to discuss behavior modification.

A vacancy exists for Behavior Analyst to work within the Office of Student Services at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit! The Behavior Analyst develops behavior management programs for students with classroom staff and the program supervisors that meet the needs of students from various backgrounds, including students who have experienced school failure, students identified as in need of special education and students with severe behavioral and emotional challenges. This position will be available on Monday, August 24th.

Qualifications
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certificationrequired.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team. Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with people, cooperative, congenial, and self-oriented.
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions, ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision, ability to read, write, and do simple computation.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, use computer technology efficiently, be a proficient typist, and know how to format business correspondence/reports.
  • Valid PA driver's license; this position will require travel to classrooms/programs throughout Montgomery County
  • Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation to teachers and to program supervisors in observing students presenting management problems and in taking baseline data on their behavior.
  • Provide consultation to teachers and the program supervisor in selecting and developing appropriate data collection techniques.
  • Develop written descriptions of behavior programs for specific students.
  • Provide consultation to teachers and the program supervisor in developing behavior management programs for both specific students and the classroom milieu.
  • Assist teachers in making IEP revisions when they are necessary in order to implement a behavior modification program.
  • Attend IEP meetings with parents along with the teachers and the program supervisor to discuss behavior modification programs.
  • Instruct staff members in the use of passive restraint techniques and assist teachers in applying these techniques when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Administrator(s).
Location

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA and provides services to students in School Age K-12 classrooms located throughout Montgomery County, PA. For additional information about the MCIU Student Services, please visit: https://mciu.org/office-of-student-services/ .

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 10 months (194 days/year)

Salary

Bachelor's, Step 1: $53,997/year

Master's, Step 1: $65,007/year

*Placement on salary schedule based on experience and/or education beyond the Master's Degree.
