Job summary

De Soto Unified School Dist is hiring a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)/Behavior Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field and have experience with students facing behavioral challenges. Responsibilities include documentation and staff development in behavioral support. The starting salary will be commensurate with experience. USD 232 welcomes approximately 7,500 students each day (Early Childhood through grade 12) at 13 campuses, including seven elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, and Cedar Trails Exploration Center. Our district spans almost 100 square miles in northwest Johnson County and serves communities such as De Soto, Shawnee, Lenexa, parts of Olathe, and surrounding unincorporated areas.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college/university in Special Education, Behavioral Sciences, or another related field.
• Experience working with students with behavioral challenges.
• Ability to maintain documentation of all behavioral programming and planning for students, staff, and families involved in behavioral support services.
• Ability to provide ongoing staff development and mentoring for staff around positive behavioral supports and management.
• BCBA certification is preferred; candidates working toward their BCBA are also encouraged to apply.

Requirements

All employees must have a current tuberculosis (TB) test. Employees who have completed a TB test within the past 12 months may submit a copy of their results; a new test will be required if the last test was more than a year ago. Employees are responsible for the cost of the test.
