About Bellaire Education Center

Bellaire Education Center is a middle school serving students in grades 6-8 with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and developmental cognitive disabilities (DCD). We focus on hands-on learning, nature-based curriculum, and community partnerships to prepare students for high school and beyond.

Position Details

This is a 1.0 FTE position (184 days). The center follows a year-round 'stretch' calendar. Starting salary depends on education and experience. This position is fully benefit-eligible. For full details, review the contract and benefits.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop standardized procedures for Functional Behavior Assessments, restraint, seclusion, and other behavioral management areas.
• Administer and analyze student needs assessments; observe students and create action plans.
• Collaborate with staff, families, and community resources to support students.
• Research and develop professional training materials; provide staff training.
• Prepare documentation, reports, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Education or a related field, three years of relevant experience, and certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of human behavior, assessment strategies, and community resources.
• Problem-solving, recordkeeping, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and related software.

Physical Requirements

Positions require physical activities such as climbing, reaching, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and repetitive motions.
