Job summary

Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites applications for a Behavior Aide at the Kenneth Burdett School for the Deaf in Ogden. The role focuses on supporting students with deaf/hard-of-hearing needs during the school year, August through May.

Qualifications

  • ASL skills are required for assignments in ASL classrooms.
  • Experience as an aide, paraprofessional, or related role is preferred.
  • Ability to follow teacher directions and lesson plans.
  • Dependable with good organization and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Intervene with students showing challenging behaviors under supervision.
  • Support students by understanding needs, triggers, and appropriate strategies.
  • Apply safe, appropriate procedures for behavior management.
  • Interpret and implement written behavior plans in daily routines.
  • Collect and summarize data to track progress and outcomes.
