West Virginia Department of Education is seeking a Beginning Teacher Mentor for WCPC – Fourth Grade to support the beginning teacher through orientation, observation, meetings, and ongoing guidance for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year.
The mentor must be an experienced teacher in the same content area and school, and will report to the Building Principal and Building Assistant Principal, with responsibilities including submitting required reports and participating in online activities

Beginning Teacher Mentor for WCPC â– Fourth Grade
Extra-Curricular (for the remainder of the 2026-2027 School year)
An experienced teacher within the same content area and in the same school where the beginning teacher is assigned (whenever possible) and who shall serve as a mentor (upon employment) for the beginning teacher.
1. Oversee orientation program for beginning teacher.
2. Observe the beginning teacher as directed.
3. Hold meetings, as directed, between the mentor and beginning teacher.
4. Participate in the Beginning Teacher Mentor online activities as directed.
5. Submit required reports to the Principal.
