Job summary

Berlin Memorial School seeks a part-time Before School Nurse to support students from 7:00 to 8:30 am, Monday through Friday, August–June. The RN will manage the school health program, provide direct nursing care, and collaborate with families, teachers, and the PPS director.

Qualifications include Massachusetts RN license and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications; experience in pediatric health and school nursing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license required.
• Experience in child/pediatric health; school nurse preferred.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and respond to crises.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and manages a comprehensive school health program.
• Promotes safety and ensures an emergency plan exists and is communicated.
• Immunization surveillance and health screenings with referrals and follow-up.
• Maintain health records and report to administration as requested.
• Develop and review procedures for first aid, emergency management and medication administration.
• Provide training for health screening volunteers, assistants, and substitute nurses.
• Maintain inventory of nursing supplies and equipment.
• Provide direct nursing care to meet student and staff needs.
• Collaborate with parents and physicians for health care plans.
• Identify health education needs and deliver related topics.
