AlphaBEST Education, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Site Director for our before and after school program at Malcolm Elementary School in Maryland. You will lead a high-energy, structured program that keeps children safe, engaged, and learning beyond the school day.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, staff supervision, curriculum delivery, and licensing readiness, while building strong partnerships with families and school staff. This is a leadership role offering growth and meaningful impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• Flexible schedule to cover program staffing.
• Must have state childcare licensing clearance.
• Experience meeting licensing and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations: schedules, ratios, staffing, and documentation.
• Oversee curriculum implementation and ensure activities meet program expectations.
• Maintain licensing compliance and readiness for inspections.
• Supervise and mentor site team, providing coaching and training as required.
• Represent AlphaBEST professionally at school and community events.
• Build strong relationships with families, school staff, and AlphaBEST leadership.

Hours: AM shift 6:30am-9:30am PM shift 3:30pm-6pm

In This Role, You Will

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the site: schedules, ratios, staffing, and documentation
• Oversee/facilitate curriculum implementation and ensure activities meet program expectations
• Build a safe and inclusive environment aligned with licensing requirements and AlphaBEST standards
• Make child safety the top priority at all times
• Maintain licensing compliance, documentation, and readiness for inspections
• Track and manage site resources, attendance, and food program requirements
• Supervise and mentor your site team, providing coaching and feedback, and ensuring training requirements are met
• Represent AlphaBEST with professionalism at school and community events
• Build strong relationships with families, school staff, and AlphaBEST leadership to support student success

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or GED,
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs
• Must be registered and have full clearance from the state childcare licensing agency
• Proof of experience as required by state childcare licensing regulations (see below)

Proof of experience through ONE of the following options is required:

• Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA in a related field) or Associate's Degree (AS/AA in a related field)
• A 1-year state or nationally recognized credential (related to school-age care)
• Completion of 20 credits (semester system) or 30 credits (quarter system) of training at a college/university AND at least 1 year of qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Child Care Center (or comparable group care program)
• 2 or more years of qualifying teaching experience (with at least one year as a teacher) in a Certified Child Care Center (or comparable group care program)
• 90 Hour certification needed for licensing requirements- 45 hours growth and
• development 45 hours school age curriculum
