BEER-WINE-LIQR/LEAD CLERK (Finance)

Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Beer/Wine/Spirits operations. Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Ability to handle stressful situations
Desired Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- Management experience preferred
- Beer/Wine/Liquor experience
- Familiar with industry terms and processes
- Retail experience
- Knowledge of imported and domestic varieties, flavor profiles, and production processes
- Knowledge of industry trends in specialty wines and beers as they relate to customer preferences
- Second language skills (speaking, reading, and/or writing)
Key Responsibilities
- Promote trust and respect among associates and communicate company, department, and job-specific information effectively.
- Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
- Develop and manage staffing schedules to handle customer volume effectively.
- Train and develop associates, participate in performance appraisals.
- Ensure compliance with all laws and company policies.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, answer product inquiries, and offer samples according to guidelines and laws.
- Inform customers of specials and promotional events.
- Display a positive attitude and develop a business plan for the department.
- Coordinate sales promotions and communicate upcoming promotions to staff.
- Prepare seasonal critiques and implement promotional plans.
- Assist in budgeting, profit and loss reviews, and financial management.
- Monitor inventory levels, note discrepancies, and manage pricing updates.
- Train staff on inventory management and computer-assisted ordering systems.
- Maintain proper storage temperatures and logs.
- Reinforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
