Job summary

Kroger in Gardnerville, NV is seeking an Adult Beverage Department Supervisor to lead staff, plan displays, train clerks and ensure excellent customer service. You will maximize store sales and profits while maintaining safety, accuracy in pricing and ordering, and compliance with state laws.

This role requires weekend availability, strong communication, and the ability to coach teammates in a fast-paced retail environment. Previous grocery/retail supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers with a smile and friendly welcome.
• Develop relationships with customers and know them by name when possible.
• Assist customers in finding beverages or making recommendations.
• Assist with wine pairings for meals or events.
• Be familiar with department assortment and act as a guide to questions.
• Conduct a minimum of 2 tastings per week during peak times.
• Take special orders and communicate availability and delivery dates.
• Perform daily department walks to ensure standards are met.
• Execute the Weekly Display Plan and maintain signs and POS materials.
• Order and maintain inventory for ads and displays; limit shrink.
• Maintain planograms and communicate sales opportunities to management.
• Keep the department clean, organized, and safe.
• Maintain accurate pricing and computer ordering entries.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews.

Job description

Interact with the customer within and outside of the adult beverage department. Help customers make informed decisions in their shopping experience. Plan, organize, train and direct Adult Beverage department clerks; perform production and customer service functions; maximize store sales and profits. Responsibilities

• Engage the customer with a smile and friendly welcome.
• Develop a relationship with customers and get to know them on a first name basis when possible.
• Assist customers in finding the adult beverage they are looking for or make suggestions.
• Assist customers in pairing wines with food or with their party needs.
• Be familiar with the adult beverage sections and assortment to be able to act as a guide to customer questions and suggestions.
• Conduct a minimum of 2 tastings time a week (recommended for Friday, Saturday and Sunday during Prime Time).
• Take customer special orders and communicate with customer about availability and Delivery date; follow the company customer request procedures in receiving and ringing up request.
• Conduct daily department walk to ensure standards are in place.
• Execute the Weekly Display Plan.
• Maintain accurate ad shelf signs, merchandising signs and Point of Sale (POS) in clean, attractive condition.
• Order and maintain adequate inventory for ad and display support; follow financial cost billing guidelines to limit shrink.

• Communicate weekly sales opportunities to the grocery manager.
• Keep department clean, organized and safe.
• Maintain Accurate Pricing and Accurate Computer Assisted Ordering entries.
• Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
