Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Beer Den/Wine clerk to engage guests, educate on beer and wine, and manage displays and tastings. You will maintain the Beer Den/Sunmill Wines area, train team members, and ensure compliance with ALE guidelines while delivering friendly, sales-minded service.

You will support pricing decisions, handle growler prep, and participate in promotions, demos, and restocking. The role requires teamwork, physical stamina, and a positive guest-first attitude.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of beer and wine products.
• Familiar with ALE laws governing sale and procurement of beer and wine.
• Sales minded with strong guest service and selling skills.
• Friendly, outgoing personality and strong work ethic.
• Self-motivated and able to follow guidelines.
• Ability to work well with others and read/digest information.
• Ability to communicate with Store Manager, DSD Receiver and vendors.
• Physical ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Educate guests on product attributes and needs and provide guidance.
• Ensure marketing materials and signage are displayed and maintained.
• Maintain sanitation and appearance of Beer Den/Sunmill Wines.
• Work with category managers and suppliers for pricing/product selection.
• Train other Beer Den/Wine clerks and ensure information is accurate for hosts.
• Conduct tastings in Beer Den/Sunmill Wines and for in-store demos/promotions.
• Follow state laws governing sampling, sale and purchasing of beer and wine.
• Wash and prepare growlers according to standards.
• Fill growlers upon guest requests with proper filling/sealing/ labeling.
• Maintain inventory of growlers, glassware and supplies via monitoring and ordering.
• Announce specials and sale information on the PA system.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
