Responsibilities include monitoring hive health, transporting hives to orchards, routine hive inspections, and detailed record-keeping. Travel and variable weather are part of the job; full-time seasonal hours apply.

Qualifications

• 3+ years proven commercial beekeeping experience.
• Experience with California almond pollination.
• Knowledge of hive management, pest control, and bee health.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather, lift up to 75 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
• Ability to clock in/out using a cell phone app.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Beekeeper with a background in commercial beekeeping and California almond pollination. This role involves managing and maintaining healthy colonies for large-scale pollination during the almond season. The position requires hands-on expertise and a deep understanding of commercial beekeeping practices, particularly in California.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage honeybee colonies to ensure optimal health and productivity for almond pollination.
• Monitor hive conditions and address issues such as pests, diseases, and queen health.
• Transport and set up hives for pollination assignments in almond orchards.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of hives.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet pollination targets and timelines.
• Maintain detailed records of hive activities and conditions.

Qualifications:

• Required:

  • Proven commercial beekeeping experience (3+ years preferred).
  • Experience with California almond pollination.
  • Knowledge of hive management, pest control, and bee health.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions carrying up to 75 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to accurately and timely clock in/out working hours in cell phone app.

• Preferred:

  • Familiarity with pollination technology or equipment.
  • Strong understanding of honeybee biology and behavior.
