Job summary

The Department of Animal Science at UC Davis is recruiting an Assistant Professor of Beef Science on a 9-month tenure-track basis. The appointee will build an innovative, funded research program addressing beef production sustainability and collaborate across nutrition, genetics, physiology, and management disciplines.

The role includes teaching undergraduate courses such as ANS 41, 41L, 129 and 144, graduate mentoring, and active involvement in outreach, service, and collaboration with

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required in Animal Science, Animal Biology, beef science or related field by start of appointment.
• Tenure-track, 9-month academic year position.
• Experience in teaching and mentoring at undergraduate and graduate levels is expected.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses (e.g., ANS 41, ANS 41L, ANS 129, ANS 144).
• Mentor graduate students (e.g., ABG 200A, ABG 200B, ABG 202, ABG 290).
• Engage in outreach, service, and collaboration with Extension specialists and industry partners.
• Advise undergraduate students and contribute to program development.
