Job summary

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is hiring to conduct carcass and carcass part sorting, identify abnormalities, and separate normal from abnormal parts before inspection. You will work in a fast paced environment and follow FSIS regulations.

We offer base pay of $21.00 to $24.00 per hour, medical/dental/vision coverage, a 401(k), disability insurance, paid holidays, and training to support career growth.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and quality.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Training to include Beef Modernization; Straight knife, steel, hook.

Responsibilities

• Observe, palpate, and incise carcass and carcass parts to determine abnormalities.
• Perform preparation (e.g., cuts) and presentation activities.
• Follow FSIS regulations and company procedures (e.g., heads, tongues, viscera, carcass).
• Notify the proper person if an animal or carcass is suspected to have a reportable or foreign animal disease.
• Attend training at hire and annual refresher training as needed.
• Must be willing to train and educate others.
• Employees may perform other related duties as needed.
