Job description

JBS is seeking an hourly Production Lead 2nd shift Team Member! The position starts at $24 per hour with a $1 shift differential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates activities with production, procurement, maintenance, warehouse, and quality departments to achieve and sustain results.
  2. Supports team members by maintaining a visible presence on the production floor.
  3. Creates an environment that expresses concern and consistency toward all team members.
  4. Promotes cooperation and dedication to superior workmanship among all team members.
  5. Provides training for team members on company policies, rules, regulations, and job-specific duties and responsibilities.
  6. Monitors and enforces adherence to GMPs and specifications.
  7. Encourages the best use of energy and resources with minimal waste.
  8. May assume other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) programs. SQF, GMP, and HACCP certification a plus.
  • Must be able to motivate a diverse workforce and lead by example. Must be able to coach, train, and take corrective action, including discipline, when appropriate.
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking skills and possess a problem-solving mentality.
  • Good math skills.

Physical and Working Conditions:

  • May require working on feet for long hours, bending, and stooping.
  • Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Average visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
  • Must be able to work long hours in a food processing environment that is wet, damp, and cold, with temperatures frequently around 34 degrees.
