Job summary

JBS in Ottumwa, IA seeks a Production Supervisor for the Harvest 2nd Shift to lead daily operations, drive production goals, and ensure food safety and policy compliance across the team.

You will supervise 25–50 hourly employees, coordinate with the Union and USDA, maintain safety and quality standards, and report to plant management. Long hours, weekend work, and strong attendance are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and verbal.
• Bilingual skills are helpful.
• Excellent conflict resolution skills.
• Computer knowledge required.
• Good organizational skills.
• Willing to work 50+ hours.
• Good attendance record (internal candidates: <3 points).

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed production goals set forth by plant management.
• Monitor and ensure proper procedures, safety, and cleanliness of production employees.
• Ensure policy compliance with all production employees.
• Responsible for meeting volume goals, reducing claims, maximizing yields, reducing cost, employee retention and maintain good working relationships with the Union, USDA (meat), and maintenance employees.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, and all human resources and safety policies.
