Job summary

Iowa Ag is seeking a Production Supervisor in Ottumwa to lead production teams, oversee safety and policy compliance, and drive efficiency in beef and pork production operations.

The role requires supervision experience, strong communication, and a commitment to food safety and hazardous- environment awareness. Schedule is typically Mon-Fri with weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field preferred.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Production Supervisor

Department: Harvest 2nd

Location: Ottumwa

Salary Class: Exempt

Principle Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed production goals set forth by plant management


• Supervise production employees


• Monitor and ensure proper procedures, safety, and cleanliness of production employees


• Ensure policy compliance with all production employees


• Perform various duties as assigned


• Responsible for meeting volume goals, reducing claims, maximizing yields, reducing cost, employee retention and maintain good working relationships with the Union, USDA (meat), and maintenance employees


• Ensure compliance with food safety, and all human resources and safety policies

Working Conditions

• Production and maintenance settings


• Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives


• Slippery floors, Hot temperatures, and loud ambient noise

Education

• High School degree or equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience


• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field preferred

Experience: 1-2 years proven supervisory experience in the Beef or Pork Industry Preferred

• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally in English

Comments

The schedule for this position is typically Mon - Fri. Weekend work required as scheduled. During Fall Season, Sat urdays are typically scheduled.
