Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking a farmhand to feed and water beef cattle, monitor supplies, and assist with basic animal care on a Kansas farm. The role requires willingness to perform physically demanding tasks and to learn safety and biosecurity guidelines.

Employee housing and meals are provided, with optional town transport arrangements. Experience of at least 3 months is preferred; a valid driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• 3 months experience preferred
• Must obtain driver’s license within 30 days of hire
• Must be able to speak English
• Physically demanding tasks; exposure to extreme temperatures

Responsibilities

• Feed and water livestock and monitor supplies
• Herd livestock to pastures or enclosures
• Inspect animals for illness or injury
• Maintain and operate farm equipment and facilities
• Mix feed and medications as prescribed
• Record growth, feeding, and production data
• Protect herds from predators; use trained dogs as needed
• Assist with breeding and animal births when required
• Move livestock between grazing areas and transport supplies
