Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa Medical Center is seeking a full-time closing-shift pharmacy technician to support pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting. You will deliver filled prescriptions to patients at their bedsides prior to discharge and help coordinate the transition from hospital to home.

Qualifications

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification and registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy by time of hire.
• HS diploma or GED if nationally certified through NHA.
• PTCB certification does NOT require HS diploma or GED.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completion within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver filled prescriptions to patients' bedside prior to discharge as a meds-to-beds pharmacy technician.
• Assist in transitioning patients from hospital to home by handling prescription processing, including history collection, insurance processing, coordinating with care teams, and minimizing post-discharge pharmacy stops.
