Description

This is an entry-level position suited for individuals who are new to medical bed repairs. At this stage, technicians are introduced to fundamental repair and maintenance techniques while working under direct supervision.

Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Conducts basic visual inspections and functional tests on medical beds, gurneys, and patient lifts.
  • Assists senior technicians in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Performs minor repairs, such as replacing broken casters, adjusting bed frames, and fixing simple wiring problems.
  • Learns and follows proper safety procedures, including infection control protocols.
  • Becomes familiar with essential tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic software.
  • Completes manufacturer training and certification programs to enhance knowledge.
  • Documents work performed and reports findings to higher-level technicians.
  • Performs basic preventative maintenance on beds, gurneys, and patient lifts, including lubrication, cleaning, and routine safety checks.
  • Demonstrates strong adaptability to different work environments and locations, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.

Technical Skills & Abilities

  • Strong IT literacy including CMMS platforms, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with equipment service.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
