Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) invites applications for the Patient Placement and Transfer Center Manager role in Galveston, TX. You will supervise a team of nurses and placement coordinators, coordinating bed assignments and transfers to appropriate levels of care, while collaborating with community hospitals and insurers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Five years experience in healthcare with three years in lead/supervisory roles is required (minimum).
• Preferred: nursing degree, Master's degree, experience with multiple healthcare information system applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee bed placement and transfer coordination across UTMB hospitals.
• Lead nurses and placement coordinators; ensure smooth transfers and communication with facilities and vendors.
• Manage 24/7 operations including staffing, quality assurance, compliance, data analytics and budgeting.
