Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking an Admission & Bed Management Coordinator for 24 hours per week to oversee patient transfers, admissions, and bed capacity across Methodist Corporate Office and hospital locations in Omaha. The role focuses on timely bed assignments and efficient throughput.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field plus at least 3 years of healthcare experience; RN license preferred; strong communication and computer skills;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health care, business or related field or relevant equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years health care experience required.
• Bed management experience preferred.
• RN license preferred (compact multistate acceptable) if licensed.
• American Heart Association BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate timely transfers/admissions with internal hospitals, clinics and referring facilities.
• Monitor bed availability and turnover to ensure prompt admissions and efficient throughput.
• Ensure patients meet admission criteria and are placed in appropriate levels of care.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and collaborate with departments and housekeeping for bed readiness.
• Lead daily bed huddle and participate in emergency bed huddles as needed.
