Be A Mentor, Inc. in Hayward seeks caring adult volunteers to join the Be A Mentor Program to support youth in one-to-one relationships. As a mentor, you will provide guidance, help set goals, and encourage academic success.
This role requires a commitment of at least one hour per week for a full year, along with a background check. Mentoring provides life-changing support for youth and enhances their potential both in and outside the classroom.
The Be A Mentor Program pairs caring adult volunteers from the community with youth in one-to-one relationships. Mentors give their time to be a friend, answer questions, and provide guidance. Mentors come from a variety of backgrounds and occupations and volunteer to be a caring friend to a youth. They serve as a role model, advocate, and resource. The purpose of the mentoring relationship is to help youth develop their full potential, both in and outside of the classroom.
