Job summary

Maesa seeks an experienced Package Developer to drive packaging programs from concept to production. Based in Manhattan, the role requires collaboration with Creative, Marketing, Product Development, and global manufacturing partners to deliver innovative packaging on time and within budget.

You will manage BOMs, specifications, testing, and production coordination for multiple beauty categories, with travel up to 20% and a focus on cost containment and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of packaging development experience, preferably in beauty, cosmetics, personal care, or consumer packaged goods.
• Experience managing custom packaging development and turnkey manufacturing programs from concept through commercialization.
• Strong project management with ability to manage multiple timelines and stakeholders.
• Experience with overseas manufacturers, particularly in China.
• Knowledge of packaging specs, testing requirements, BOM creation, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging development for turnkey beauty programs from concept through production.
• Manage timelines, milestones, and packaging costs for launches.
• Oversee form, fit, and function of custom packaging across categories.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Creative, Marketing, Product Development, Supply Chain.
• Coordinate with manufacturers in China and North America to meet quality and cost targets.
• Conduct packaging testing and ensure compliance before launch.
• Develop and maintain BOMs, packaging specs, and assembly instructions.
• Monitor cost targets and keep stakeholders informed of milestones.
• Prioritize multiple projects and respond to inquiries promptly.
