Job Objectives
Maximize sales and brand awareness by providing exceptional customer care in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. Offer impartial, personalized advice and expertise regardless of brand and budget. Demonstrate a passion for beauty and wellness, providing inspirational knowledge and solutions for customers' beauty and wellness needs, including mini-makeovers and skincare consultations. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience and oversee overall beauty department standards.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks
Customer Experience
- Engage customers by greeting and assisting with products and services, resolving issues, and answering questions.
- Share best practices in customer care by proactively offering assistance and asking questions to determine needs.
- Identify customer needs and inform them of appropriate products and services, including warm transfers when necessary.
- Provide product demonstrations and consultations using tools like the Skin Hydrometer and tablets.
- Lead and participate in in-store events to promote brand awareness and loyalty.
- Build authentic relationships with customers and engage with omni-channel solutions.
- Locate products in other stores or online if unavailable.
Operations
- Achieve or exceed sales goals by assisting customers and modeling excellent customer care.
- Review beauty business performance regularly with store leadership.
- Focus on link-selling and up-selling, showing sale items and complimentary products.
- Use testers and samples to demonstrate products and leverage promotional items.
- Maintain hygiene standards and keep the department clean and organized.
- Implement asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss.
- Process sales accurately, including employee purchases.
- Participate in meetings and calls about programs, promotions, and sales goals.
- Ensure compliance with laws regarding regulated products.
- Follow all policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete assigned special tasks.
Training & Personal Development
- Monitor own performance, set high standards, stay updated on trends, and learn from others.
- Stay informed about competitors, new product launches, and industry trends.
- Attend meetings, seminars, and training to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Complete e-learning modules as assigned.
- Maintain a professional appearance and share best behaviors with team members.
- Collaborate with Store Leadership to review goals and maintain product knowledge.

Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and at least one year of retail sales experience with sales goals, or experience selling beauty/cosmetic products and providing customer care.
- Ability to work independently to meet objectives and escalate issues when necessary.
- Knowledge of products and brands to meet customer needs.
- Experience building relationships within a team.
- Basic PC/tablet skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Fluency in English (excluding Puerto Rico).
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensure in Cosmetology or Esthetician.
- Experience with relationship building at all organizational levels and with vendors.
- Experience demonstrating makeup application and providing makeovers.
- Experience selling Prestige brands.
- Beauty School degree.
- Externship experience at another retailer.
