Job summary

The Boeing Company in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Mechanical Parts Engineer (Bearings & Bushings) to join the Mechanical Parts team. The role focuses on bearings, lubricants, materials tribology, and hands‑on lab testing to support production, drawing reviews, failure investigations, and R&D testing.

You will review drawings, draft specifications, and manage tools and processes, communicating across Boeing teams and external customers. Requires lab experience and engineering background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering; Chemical, Aerospace, or Mechanical preferred.
• 3+ years of experience with manufacturing processes for fasteners and/or bearings.
• 2+ years of experience with material testing, writing test plans, conducting tests, and writing test reports.
• 2+ years of experience in engineering test support within a test lab environment.
• Strong self project management skills and software knowledge (Excel, Microsoft Project).
• Experience reading and understanding part standards and process specifications.
• Experience working with suppliers to improve engineering practices and resolve issues.
• Ability to understand and draft engineering drawings and requirements.
• Experience in design, testing, and failures of bushings and bearings.

Responsibilities

• Assists with definition of requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes in design, manufacture and maintenance.
• Reviews engineering drawings for fleet maintenance and design to ensure quality.
• Drafts engineering specifications and documents for deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes.
• Conducts and supports R&D testing in lab to meet program requirements and qualifications.
• Assists in evaluating emerging technologies for business needs.
• Conducts routine analysis to determine performance or causes of failures.
• Assists in failure analysis strategies and corrective actions.
• Uses project management tools to plan costs, schedule, and requirements and produce products.
• Works under general direction.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering
