Job summary

CGB Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Soybean Truck Dump Operator to join our ND processing location. No experience?

No problem—paid, hands-on training starts day one to help you build a career in agriculture. You will dump trucks, identify and route beans, and maintain housekeeping and security in the dump area. This role requires basic computer and mechanical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work safely under OSHA and company safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Basic computer and mechanical skills preferred.
  • Strong safety and attendance record required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Dump trucks at a soybean processing location and route product to bins.
  • Identify and receive trucks, document dump activity and ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain housekeeping and security in the dump area.
  • Participate in Company Safety, Food Safety and Quality programs.
  • Communicate with customers and supervisors as needed.
  • Work in compliance with OSHA, safety and environmental regulations and wear PPE.

This job is primarily responsible for performing all tasks dealing with dumping the trucks at a soybean processing location. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, receiving and identifying the truck, dumping the commodity, routing the commodity to appropriate bin and maintaining housekeeping and security. In this job, you will:

  • Fully participate in the company Safety, Food Safety, and Quality programs and attend daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Perform all duties within compliance of OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations (ISO where applicable); including wearing appropriate PPE for task being performed.
  • Communicate with customers in a way that maintains and enhances customer relationships.
  • Operate equipment and monitor Dust Suppression Systems and record readings.
  • Start-up and inspect all belts and dump equipment.
  • Ensure the accuracy of truck bin list with Supervisor; spot the truck, receive truck, document, dump the product, and route the product to the assigned bin.
  • Ensure the dump pit is empty, clean and pit gate closed, sweep and clean the apron and pit area, so that all equipment is set up for the next dump.
  • Shutdown at the end of the day and log bin activities.
  • Keep Non-GMO beans separated from GMO beans.
  • Visually inspect beans as they are dumped for signs of contamination, foreign material, treated beans, or any other conditions that could disrupt or harm operations and stop dumping as soon as possible to keep from contaminating a bin until a solution is resolved; inform management as any of these issues are detected.
  • Communicate with Bean Scale Operator on quality of contamination issues with incoming beans for proper discounts.
  • Other duties as assigned; including performing housekeeping in dump area and may include working in any or all parts of the plant assisting with operations or maintenance when an imminent or urgent issue arises.
Education
  • Required - High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands & Requirements
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting that includes up to 20 lbs. daily, 60 lbs. occasionally, and ask for assistance on anything over 60 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders or stairs repeatedly to significant elevation. At least 30 feet before a rest, and a total height of up to 120 feet.
  • Ability to be able to use a 300 pound rated ladder on regular basis.
  • Ability to wear required safety equipment.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights (100+ feet).
  • Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person and over two-way radio.
  • Ability to understand and communicate written instructions.
  • Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to grasp and reach constantly/continuously.
  • Ability to work the entire normally scheduled shift (including rotating shifts) and overtime when necessary.
  • Ability to work in an environment with high dust levels.
  • Ability to perform work in confined spaces and significant heights.
  • Ability to meet requirements of PFT and fit testing, when applicable.
  • Ability to meet requirement of and utilize all applicable PPE, when applicable
