Job summary

University of Rochester's Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) seeks a Beamlines Technician to assist in assembly, alignment and testing of optical/mechanical components used in laser systems and imaging devices. You will support calibration, troubleshooting, and quality control under supervision, contributing to a national resource for laser research and education.

The role requires an associate degree in a STEM field with 1 year of relevant experience, or an equivalent education/experience

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Science/Engineering or Math with 1 year of relevant experience required
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn additional software required

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance and calibrations of optical/mechanical systems
• Assists in assembly, alignment and testing of optical components and devices
• Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues with engineers
• Supports installation and operation of laser-related equipment
• Maintains clear documentation and procedures
• Shift flexibility for morning and evening shifts

Education
