Job summary

Engineered Floors in Alabama is seeking Beaming Operators to produce beams and support the weaving department. You will monitor quality, report issues, and keep a clean, safe work area while using basic job tools such as safety glasses and ear protection.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, standing on a concrete floor for long shifts, and working in a busy, hot environment with hands-on mechanical work and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must read, write, and do basic math.
• Computer knowledge or data entry skills required.
• Must be able to operate a lift truck and complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Keep the Weaving/Beaming Supervisor and Operation Manager informed of problems and quality issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Use basic tools and PPE correctly (safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.).

Beaming Operators create quality beams to send to the Weaving Department.

• Keep both the Weaving/Beaming Supervisor and Operation Manager informed of any problems or quality issues, helping to minimize ongoing defects.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Maintain and use basic tools of the job properly: safety glasses, ear plugs, scissors, etc.

Performance Expectations (if applicable):

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Capable of standing on concrete floor throughout shift
• Walking, stooping and reaching over loom for long periods of time
• Must be able to withstand working in a busy and hot environment
• Must be hands-on and have a mechanical aptitude

Experience/Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read and write and do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Computer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job.
• Must be able to operate a lift truck and complete necessary lift truck training.

Other Requirements:

• Overtime is required on occasion.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
• All accidents must be reported immediately.
• Responsible for quality and safety of his/her own output.
