Job summary

Pelican Grand Beach Resort, a Noble House Resort, seeks a Room Service Server to deliver food and beverages to guest rooms in a friendly, timely manner on Fort Lauderdale Beach. The role emphasizes enthusiastic, professional service and upselling when appropriate.

Our ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience as a room service/food server, strong customer service skills, and basic computer and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to facilitate the communication process.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Must be flexible to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Responsibilities

• Take and serve all room service requests using suggestive selling.
• Ensure station and table set-ups are complete; assist F&B managers.
• Maintain dining areas and servicing equipment cleanliness.
• Attend all scheduled training sessions and meetings.
• Provide guests with courteous, friendly, and efficient service.
• Answer phones using appropriate verbiage.
• Set up room service orders thoroughly and swiftly.
• Deliver food and beverages to guest rooms and/or pool deck.
• Set up and deliver amenities in a timely manner.
• Assist Restaurant Service staff as needed.
• Explain menu items; upsell as warranted.
• Execute all financial transactions.
• Perform side work
• Collect and clear trays from guest room floors.
• Maintain sanitation standards per health codes.
