Job summary

The School District of Lee County Beach Volleyball Assistant Coach position at Gateway High in Fort Myers, FL is seeking an energetic, experienced coach to lead practices and competitions while emphasizing safety and sportsmanship.

The ideal candidate has coaching experience, Florida teaching or DOE coaching certification, FHSAA certification, First Aid/CPR/AED, and a valid Florida driver’s license. Evening/weekend availability and mentoring student-athletes are expected.

Qualifications

Coaching experience required.
Florida teaching certificate or Department of Education athletic coaching certificate required.
FHSAA certification required.
First Aid/CPR/AED certification issued by AHA or Red Cross required.
Combination of education, experience, and certifications may be considered.
Valid Florida Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and conduct regular practice sessions.
Develop and implement game strategies and tactics.
Teach fundamental skills, techniques, and sports rules to student-athletes.
Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and trips.
Promote discipline, responsibility, and good sportsmanship.
Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations.
Assist with maintenance of team equipment and uniforms.
Assist with scheduling and facility use.
Maintain open communication with parents and guardians.
Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes on personal development and college opportunities.
Enforce all school policies and codes of conduct.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
