The School District of Lee County is seeking a Flag Football Assistant Coach at Gateway High in Fort Myers, FL. This role requires coaching experience, relevant Florida certifications, and the ability to work evenings and weekends with student-athletes.

You will assist with practices, develop game plans, teach skills, and ensure safety and sportsmanship while coordinating with staff and families.

Competenze

• Valid Florida teaching or coaching certificate is required or acceptable alternate certifications.
• Certification in FHSAA, First Aid/CPR/AED, and valid driver’s license are required or highly preferred.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior coaching experience.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate or valid Department of Education athletic coaching certificate.
• Valid FHSAA certification.
• Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
• Valid Florida Driver's License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Coaching experience in the assigned or a closely related sport.
• Experience mentoring youth and fostering a positive team culture.
• Familiarity with academic eligibility requirements for student-athletes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of the sport’s rules, techniques, and safety practices.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Ability to collaborate with school staff, parents, and community partners.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and during school breaks as needed.
