Job summary

Discovery Land Company’s Dune Deck Beach Club in Westhampton Beach, NY seeks a Beach Supervisor for the Outdoor Pursuits Department. This seasonal role runs May 1 through October 9, 2027, overseeing lifeguards and attendants to deliver exceptional member experiences.

You’ll lead scheduling, training, safety, and reporting, while partnering with the Beach Manager and Director of Outdoor Operations to maintain luxury standards for our members and guests.

Qualifications

• Active Discovery 4 Life CPR/First Aid certifications.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.
• High School diploma or GED; Bachelor preferred.
• 1–3 years supervisory experience in hospitality.
• Guest service in luxury resort or private club setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage all staff within the department: Lifeguards, Pool & Beach Attendants, Outdoor Pursuits Attendants, Kids Camp Attendants in Beach Manager absence.
• Scheduling, training and ongoing feedback of all direct reports.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Attend off-site excursions and field trips with Members.
• Monitor budget and variance reports with Director of Outdoor Operations.
• Generate daily activity reports for Beach Manager.
• Provide risk management for all activities and spaces.
• Perform first aid treatments when necessary.
• Attend meetings and trainings as necessary.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Dune Deck Beach Club is seeking a Beach Supervisor to join the Outdoor Pursuits Department. This is a seasonal role available May 1 to October 9, 2027.

In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all staff within the department: Lifeguards, Pool & Beach Attendants, Outdoor Pursuits Attendants, Kids Camp Attendants specifically in the absence of the Beach Manager.
• Scheduling, training and on-going feedback of all direct reports.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
• Attend off site excursions and field trips with Members
• Actively monitor budget and variance reports with Director of Outdoor Operations
• Generate daily reports of activities throughout department for Beach Manager
• Provide risk management for all activities and outdoor/indoor spaces throughout department.
• Perform first aid treatments when necessary.
• Attend meetings and trainings as necessary.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Obtain and maintain active Discovery 4 Life and American Red Cross CPR, AED, First Aid certifications.
• Strong verbal and written communiction in English, additional languages helpful.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required, Bachelor degree preferred.
• Supervisory experience, 1-3 years
• Understanding of Guest Service in luxury level resort or private club setting

• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
