Qualifications

Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces such as beach sand.
Must perform escort duties for bulldozer or wheel loader when equipment is outside restricted area.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Must have solid interpersonal skills to interact with the public.
Candidates must provide own steel-toed boots; GLDD will provide the remaining PPE equipment.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid State driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Maintain a sentry post at the entrance to the construction area to keep unauthorized persons from entering the active construction zone.
Perform escort duties for bulldozer or wheel loader when equipment is operating outside the designated construction area and the public is present.
Perform pipe security check by walking or driving the shorepipe to identify safety concerns for the public, including leaks or crossings issues.
Spend 2-3 days watching safety training videos prudent to job duties.
May be assigned to other duties.
