Job summary

Sarasota County is hiring for an entry-level Attendant at Siesta Key Beach. The role involves keeping beaches and facilities clean, operating light equipment, tracking inventory, and assisting with maintenance projects. Great for outdoors lovers with a high school diploma and Florida driver’s license.

Work is full-time (40 hrs/wk), with seasonal variations and required weekend shifts. Benefits begin within 60 days of hire, with opportunities for growth within the department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Valid Florida driver's license.
• Preferred qualifications: experience with small tools and lightweight maintenance equipment.
• Public Park Restroom, Facility, and Grounds maintenance.
• Physical Demands: occasional lifting over 50 pounds; outdoor work in all seasons.

Responsibilities

• Clean and help maintain beaches, picnic areas, parking lots, playgrounds, restroom facilities, buildings, etc.
• Operate light automotive equipment, UTVs, light landscape equipment, and hand tools.
• Track inventory.
• Complete routine maintenance projects.
• Keep schedules of maintenance for assigned area(s).
• Perform daily safety checks.
• Lead volunteer groups and projects.
