Job summary

Bloom Energy, based in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, DevOps to join a fast-growing team building enterprise-grade infrastructure and automation.

You will design and operate Kubernetes clusters, implement IaC and CD pipelines, and collaborate with engineering on scalable, secure solutions. This on-site role emphasizes SDLC discipline and reliable deployments.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of DevOps experience with strong debugging and integration skills.
• Proficiency in Python; familiarity with Go, Rust, or C++ is a plus.
• Strong understanding of middleware components, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and event-driven architectures.
• Kubernetes cluster lifecycle and administration; IaC / configuration management tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain DevOps tooling, automation, and infrastructure workflows.
• Stand up and manage Kubernetes clusters outside of cloud providers (bare-metal or on-prem).
• Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, and config-as-code patterns.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex system and integration issues across services, middleware, and data layers.
• Develop scripts and tools—primarily in Python—to support automation, CI/CD, and integration tasks.
• Work with databases and middleware technologies to support service integrations and reliability.
• Follow strong SDLC discipline including documentation, testing, code reviews, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams on architecture, deployments, and operational improvements.

  • Databases (SQL/NoSQL), time-series databases
  • Event driven architectures and highly scalable systems
  • Kubernetes cluster lifecycle and administration
  • Infrastructure‑as‑code / configuration management tools
• Proficiency withgitand modern development workflows.
• Strong SDLC discipline, engineering rigor, and attention to detail.

Nice to have Skills

• Experience writing and maintainingHelm charts.
• Deep familiarity withcontainersandpackage registries.
• Knowledge ofsecure SDLC workflowsand software supply chain considerations.
• Experience withobservability stacks(metrics, logging, tracing).
• Ability to designCD patterns using GitOps(ArgoCD, Flux, etc.).

Salary Ranges:

$134,500.00 - $193,500.00
