Job description

Key responsibilities
  • Drive growth across the LAI practice by supporting BD plan development and implementation.
  • Coordinate lateral partner BD integration efforts, working closely with the BD Senior Manager.
  • Help to ensure local LAI and client targeting strategies align with global BD growth objectives and broader Firm strategy.
  • Develop a strong network across global BD teams and the Business Development & Marketing (BDM) function to keep the local office connected to the global network and strategy, driving interconnectivity across these teams.
  • Ensure alignment with global processes and maximize the use of global resources and tools, including shared services.
  • Provide timely, high-quality input into win strategies and market-leading pitch and panel submissions for LAI matters.
  • Manage and coordinate input to legal directory and awards submissions.
  • Manage the maintenance and enhancement of marketing collateral and pitch materials.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with Client & Sector BD teams to drive growth across priority sectors and market opportunities.
  • Support the creation of compelling, LAI-led go-to-market campaigns to engage target clients.
  • Drive and leverage data-led insights for horizon scanning, opportunity spotting, and pipeline management for the LAI practice.
  • Analyze market information, client feedback, and external trends to inform LAI BD strategies.
  • Leverage technology, tools and data infrastructure to ensure proactive, targeted, and fit-for-purpose LAI-oriented insights.
Qualifications & experience
  • Experience in business development within legal services, preferably in Litigation, Arbitration, and Investigations (LAI) or similar practice areas.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement BD strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Track record of identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities in professional services.
  • Experience working across global teams and driving interconnectivity between offices.
  • Knowledge of utilizing global resources and tools to enhance BD effectiveness.
  • Experience providing strategic input for pitches and panel submissions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with sector teams to drive cross-selling opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging data insights for BD activities.
  • Experience gathering market intelligence and monitoring industry trends.
  • Proficiency in using technology and data tools to generate actionable BD insights.
  • A degree in marketing, business, or a related field, with a preference for advanced leadership or marketing qualifications.

The base salary range offered for this role will be between $130,000 and $150,000 and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, performance, qualifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the firm. The total compensation package for this position may include overtime pay, discretionary bonuses and other benefits.
