Job summary

American College of Chest Physicians in Glenview, IL is seeking a Business Operations Manager for the CHEST Business Development Division. You will coordinate contract processing, budgeting, reporting, and cross-functional initiatives to support funded programs and donor communications.

This role requires strong project management, stakeholder influence, and healthcare environment understanding. The position follows CHEST’s hybrid schedule with 2 days remote and 3 days onsite at CHEST

Qualifications

• At least a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of directly relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and balance multiple competing priorities/projects.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Project management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate through written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and build collaborative solutions that provide organizational opportunities.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office software such as Word and Excel in a Macintosh environment.
• Understanding of the complex health care environment.
• Ability to accommodate up to 20% travel.
• Adherence to CHEST hybrid schedule: 2 days remote, 3 days onsite at Glenview.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a passion for crushing lung disease and embody CHEST values.
• Coordinate contract processing for funded programs with internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate budget development for the Business Development Division and manage budgets.
• Track reporting requirements and deadlines for funded programs and ensure timely funder updates.
• Monitor program timelines and milestones; communicate status and risks to Directors.
• Maintain visibility into lifecycle and end dates of funded programs and coordinate renewals.
• Monitor support and recognition statements to ensure compliance.
• Ensure marketing and sales materials are developed and maintained.
• Coordinate cross-functionally for Annual Meeting funded programs.
• Build centralized tracking systems for funded programs and pipeline opportunities.
