  • Prior internship or Co-op experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field desired, but not required
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and strong leadership potential
  • Ability to learn quickly, deal with ambiguity, take initiative and achieve results
  • Excellent written and communications skills
  • Proven organization and time management skills

Program Overview

BD’s Quality Development Program Summer Internship offers undergraduate students a hands‑on opportunity to acquire practical work experience within Quality. Over the course of the summer, interns are immersed in one BD’s Quality groups, such asQuality Systems, Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, Quality Control or Continuous Improvement. Interns work alongside experienced Quality Engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams including R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Manufacturing. This experience provides valuable exposure to BD’s culture, operations, and mission to Advance the World of HealthTM. In addition to project work, interns participate in networking events, professional development workshops, and team‑building activities designed to enhance their career readiness and understanding of the medical technology industry.

The goal of the Quality Summer Internship is to enhance BD’s organizational vitality and to empower early‑career professionals through immersive learning focused on the key role quality plays at BD!

Internship Qualifications
  • Completion of Junior year towards a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Life Sciences or Quality Sciences with expected graduation December 2027 - June 2028.

Quality interns will start on Monday, June 7, 2027. For most roles, we require a minimum of 4 days of in‑office presence per week to maintain our culture of excellence and ensure smooth operations, while also recognizing the importance of flexibility and work‑life balance.
