Training Manager Job Description

The Training Manager assists in the development, coordination, and delivery of new hire orientation for R/BTs, BCBAs, and Licensed Psychologists, ensuring a supportive and comprehensive onboarding experience across all staff levels. The Training Manager must effectively coordinate and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure new hires have any necessary training from other Frontera departments (e.g., people operations, product, engineering, clinical operations, payor operations, etc.).

This position fully owns FronteraCare's Behavior Technician (BT) and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training functions across all regions. This role directly supervises the Training Support Specialist and is expected to personally execute every part of that position – new hire orientation, module tracking, coaching, and onboarding logistics. Beyond day-to-day training delivery, the Training Manager builds and maintains the training curriculum, schedules and audits training quality across all locations, owns training data and reporting, and drives automation and process improvement across the training pipeline. This position reports to the Head of Clinical Training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervises the Training Support Specialist(s), providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and support. This role will personally step in and execute the Training Support Specialist role during gaps, surges, or as needed.
  • Leads Behavior Technician training directly including leading training, presenting in orientation, and running clinical competencies on new hires.
  • Serves as the escalation point whenever a new hire's progress or conduct raises concern.
  • Develops and updates BT/RBT training content, orientation materials, and supporting job aids to keep them current and effective.
  • Audits existing trainings on a recurring basis to confirm they meet quality standards, reflect current practice, and produce the intended competencies.
  • Identifies opportunities to automate or streamline training workflows and partners with the Head of Clinical Training to implement improvements.
  • Schedule and deliver BCBA-level training and collaborate with the Head of Clinical Training on other BCBA training opportunities.
Training Data & Reporting
  • Owns new hire and ongoing training data – completion status, timelines, and competency tracking – and keeps it organized, accurate, and easy to review.
  • Regularly reviews training data to identify trends, bottlenecks, or regions falling behind, and takes action to correct course.
  • Reports on training progress and quality metrics to the Head of Clinical Training.
Multi-Location Quality & Travel
  • Ensures training quality is consistent across all FronteraCare locations.
  • Travels on an approximately 90-day cadence to directly implement and reinforce training on-site at clinics outside the home region.
  • Coordinates with RBT Leads and BCBA Regional Leads at each location to confirm training practices in the field match FronteraCare standards.
Qualifications
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required, with at least 5 years certified as a BCBA.
  • Prior experience successfully leading and designing BT training and BCBA training.
  • Strong instructional design, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build and revise training content from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across roles and levels, and to communicate clearly with diverse audiences (new hires through senior clinical staff).
  • Track record of adapting quickly to shifting priorities and taking on new or undefined tasks as organizational needs change.
  • Comfortable working hands-on – this role executes training tasks directly, not just manages them.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple open projects and priorities at once while maintaining accuracy in materials, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Able to travel regionally on a recurring (approximately every 90 days) basis.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems and Google Workspace tools (Meet, Sheets, Calendar, etc.).
  • Leadership experience working across remote/hybrid with multi-location teams.
  • Located in AZ, CO, ID, FL, GA, NC, NM, NV, TX, or UT.

We have determined a salary range for this position that takes into account several factors including experience, knowledge, education, skills, and abilities. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline and the exact salary will be determined based on the individual’s qualifications and experience, with consideration given to the factors listed above.
