Responsibilities

  • Lead in developing and implementing behavior management plans with data collection and progress reporting.
  • Lead development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians in accordance with BCBA and RBT Code of Ethics.
  • Coordinate resources and support for students and families when applicable.
  • Develop and implement assessment tools, conduct functional assessments, and design behavior strategies.
  • Coordinate home-school communication for goals and provide parental consultation on behavioral issues.
  • Attend and participate in IEP meetings and help develop instructional goals and BIPs.
  • Provide ongoing support, modeling, and instructional support for school personnel and families.
  • Maintain professional communication with parents, staff, and external agencies; liaise with community partners.
  • Troubleshoot crises efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide itinerant services as needed and directed by administration.
  • Ensure staff implement and maintain appropriate interventions and maintain attendance for continuity.

TITLE: Board Certified Behavior Analyst
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Instruction & Services
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certification from the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or related program
  • Experience in a school setting preferred
  • Demonstrate competency in behavior management skills, instructional skills, organizational and interpersonal relations
  • Ability to work with a variety of students in regard of age and functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in the English Language, both orally and through written expression
  • Must complete required health examination and immunizations
  • Provide proof of US Citizenship or legal resident status
  • Possesses basic technological skills as required by position
JOB GOALS:
  • Provide support to students and staff by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, Function Analysis and Assessment, Behavior Acquisition and Reduction Procedures and Adaptive Life Skills.
  • Participate as an active leader on the Behavior Team, overseeing programming of Registered Behavior Technicians, and any other staff involved in behavior supports, as it relates to the implementation and documentation associated with Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Provide all required components of supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians according to the BCBA and RBT Code of Ethics
  • Provide and maintain an environment favorable to learning, personal grown, personal safety and well-being
  • Establish rapport with students and staff, support students and staff so that they develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a foundation for continued growth
  • Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with other staff members and the school community at large (including families and outside agencies working with students)
  • Sensitive to and respectful of the diverse background, characteristics, preferences, and beliefs of each individual in the school community and at large
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead in developing and implementing behavior management plans, both classroom wide and individual for specific students, including data collection and analysis, reporting of progress, and modifying plans as needed
  • Lead in the development, facilitation, and follow up training in Applied Behavior Analysis and other methodologies for behavior modification
  • Function in a supervisory capacity to Registered Behavior Technicians in accordance with the BCBA and RBT Code of Ethics
  • Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for students and families (if applicable)
  • Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, to conduct functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, and to develop appropriate behavior strategies to teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors
  • Coordinate communication between home and school with regard to home-based goals and provide consultation and recommendations to parents regarding behavioral and social issues
  • Attend and serve as a member of the IEP team, assist in the development of IEP instructional goals/objectives, modifications, programming, progress monitoring, and BIPs
  • Provide ongoing support and training as well as modeling and direct instructional support for school personnel, and other individuals in support roles for families (if applicable)
  • Communicate professionally within the school community and maintain effective communication with parents, staff and outside agencies, serve as a liaison and resource with other agencies, community partners and organizations
  • Problem solve crisis issues in an efficient and effective manner
  • Provide itinerant services, as needed and outlined by administration
  • Ensure staff is implementing and maintaining appropriate interventions with student
  • Maintain regular attendance so as to ensure continuity of services, instruction and operations of the school district
  • Uphold the safety and well-being of students and staff
  • Uphold and enforce school rules, board policies and federal and state laws
  • Keep current with the literature, new research findings and resources. In addition, continuing education courses to maintain BCBA certification are necessary (32 credits every 2 years).
  • Maintain all data, paperwork, and communication between personal care staff and families, and to provide ongoing feedback to government related agencies that contract with such families.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Director of Instruction, Programs and Services.
