Job summary

Devereux California seeks a BCBA to support adults in our Santa Barbara campus-based Day Program and related services. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to assess behaviors, develop and monitor behavior support plans, and train staff and families on plan implementation.

Role requires a Master’s degree and BCBA certification, plus experience with autism/intellectual disabilities. We offer a competitive salary, sign-on available, relocation assistance, and ongoing professional

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, ABA or related field; BCBA certification required.
  • Experience designing and implementing behavior modification interventions.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments.
  • Develop, implement and monitor behavioral support plans.
  • Serve as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Instruct staff, family members and guardians on how to implement a behavior plan.
  • Ensure proper documentation and provide supervision to Behavior Specialists.

Devereux California is a therapeutic behavioral health treatment facility offering residential services, community living, day programs, and clinical services for adults with multiple diagnoses, including autistic spectrum disorders, emotional and/or behavioral differences, intellectual and developmental disabilities, dementia and other cognitive disorders.

Role

Our beautiful Santa Barbara campus overlooks the Pacific Ocean, and has been treating adults with co-occurring diagnoses in California since 1945. In this role, you will provide behavioral support services to individuals under our care. Additionally, you will:

  • Conduct appropriate assessments (including functional behavioral assessments)
  • Develop, implement and monitor behavioral support plans of assigned individuals
  • Serve as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team providing care and appropriate treatment to the ages and populations served
  • Instruct staff, family members, and/or legal guardian/conservators’ on how to implement a behavior support plan using face-to-face instruction, role modeling and coaching
  • Ensure that proper documentation is completed, and provide supervision to Behavior Specialists

Education
Qualifications

Master’s degree in Psychology, Applied Behavioral Analysis or related field. BCBA certification required

Experience
  • Experience designing and implementing behavior modification intervention services is preferred.
  • Must have strong applied behavior analysis skills and experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders
  • Experience writing Positive Behavior support plans and conducting FBA’s
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient computer skills and mastery of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s license must be maintained.
