We are searching for the best talent for a BC Operator L1 in San Angelo, TX.

Purpose:

The BC Operator sets up production equipment to produce subassemblies or finished products. Ensures production equipment is properly set up. Check products on the assembly line to confirm that they are properly assembled and remove defective products. Compiles records and reports on quality inspection results. Cleans, maintains, and performs basic repairs on equipment as needed. Schedules maintenance and/or repairs on equipment as directed. Prepares accurate records/documentation related to quality, work in progress, test results, and special projects. Troubleshoots production problems. Reports and documents unresolved production problems.

You will be responsible for:

Under limited supervision and all applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Responsible for processing VICRYL and VICRYL PLUS and possibly other products through the auto swaging and winding department.
  • Focus on ensuring maximum OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) by combining Performance, Quality, and Availability, efficiency from machine production, ensuring maximum machine utilization, and ensuring minimum departmental non-productive time.
  • Comply with all environmental, safety, and occupational health policies. (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS18001)
  • Works per Ethicon environmental policies and procedures.
  • Must have good work habits (neatness, organization, time management, etc.).
  • Associates are held accountable for production efficiencies, strict compliance with process specifications, and Company standards of behavior.
  • Daily, weekly, and/or monthly reporting of all department operations through the DTT report.
  • Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local, and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs any other work of a related nature and performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Satisfactory completion of Operator Certification (OPCERT) for product quality inspection and disposition.
  • Demonstrate the ability to set up equipment to specifications.
  • Must be able to support 24/7 manufacturing operations and work 12-hour shifts.
  • Perform duties promptly with little or no direction.
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others.
  • Ability to give and understand instructions, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Attend required Safety & Environmental Training.
  • Satisfactory completion of Compliance Wire assignments.
