Job summary

OPD, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a Structural Welder for the Baytown, TX jobsite. This role involves welding structural steel, reading drawings, and working to ASME D1.1 and AWS D1.1 specifications to deliver safe, high-quality workmanship.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of structural welding experience, own the necessary tools, and can pass the required code tests. You may work up to 12 hours per day, 7 days a week, in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of structural welding experience.
• Must own the necessary welding and fabrication tools for structural steel.
• Must pass ASME Section IX 6G pipe test (SMAW/GTAW) and AWS D1.1 plate test (SMAW/GMAW).
• Must produce welds acceptable per ASME B31.3 construction code.
• Capable of shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Weld skids, structural steel and related equipment per specifications.
• Read drawings and recognize basic symbols for the job.
• Operate tools including grinders, beveling machines, cut-off grinders, and torches.
• Ensure safe, accurate welding with minimal supervision.
• Maintain welder equipment and contribute to site safety meetings.
