Job Summary - Van Driver
Ensure all Bay Transit passengers have a safe and timely ride to meet their transportation needs to work, retail, medical, legal, educational, or recreational facilities. Reports to the Regional Transit Operations Supervisor.
Essential Functions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Rely on experience and knowledge of the service area to drive safely and efficiently. Perform a limited number of predetermined tasks. Work closely with dispatchers and schedulers to ensure a safe and timely ride for passengers. Decision-making is limited to route order, usually in consultation with the dispatcher when deviating from the manifest.

Working Environment
Work inside the bus with physical requirements such as lifting 50 lbs, walking, climbing stairs, assisting passengers, and pushing wheelchairs. Limited exposure to weather conditions. None of the essential functions can be performed virtually.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
FLSA status: Non-exempt.
