Job summary

The San Francisco Chronicle, part of Hearst Magazines, offers a 12-week Food & Wine Reporting Intern for Summer 2027 in the San Francisco Bay Area. The paid internship runs June through August with flexibility for college schedules, training, mentoring and hands-on reporting on the Bay Area dining and drinking scene.

Ideal candidates are eager to chase stories, capable of engaging readers via social media and visuals, and committed to accuracy and inclusiveness.

Qualifications

• Strong writing skills and a commitment to accuracy, fairness and inclusiveness.
• Ability to engage readers through headlines, visuals and multimedia.
• Portfolio or links to prior work showing reporting or writing ability.

Responsibilities

• Report and write news articles for the Chronicle and SFChronicle.com.
• Receive training and mentoring from editors across departments.
• Work with a cohort of more than a dozen summer interns.
