Job description

Batting Cage Attendant - Part-Time Seasonal

Position Summary

The Batting Cage Attendant is responsible for operating all cage machines. This seasonal position works under the supervision of the Recreation Specialist.

Essential Functions

  1. Uncover machines, start-up, check for proper operation, and adjust as necessary.
  2. Maintain accurate records of coupons and bonus card sales.
  3. Regularly inspect machines for jams, diverter functionality, token box operation, and throwing strikes; perform repairs as needed.
  4. Collect rental fees and provide change for customers.
  5. Pick up litter and empty trash around the facility.
  6. Greet customers and answer phone calls courteously.
  7. Empty token boxes at the end of each shift.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to give correct change and operate pitching machines, including uncovering and covering them during shifts.
  • Understanding of written and oral instructions in English.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and basic repair tasks.
  • Professional interaction with the public and positive attitude.
  • Manual dexterity for various tasks.

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
  • Negative drug screening result.
  • Background check including PA Child Abuse, PA State Police Criminal Record, and FBI fingerprint-based check. Applications available at this link.
