Job description

Batting Cage Attendant - Part-Time Seasonal

The Batting Cage Attendant is responsible for the operation of all the cage machines. This position is considered seasonal and works under the direction of the Recreation Specialist.

Essential Functions
  1. Uncover machines, start-up, and check for all throwing strikes, adjusting where necessary.
  2. Keep accurate records of coupons and bonus cards sales.
  3. Check machines periodically for ball jams, diverters functioning properly, token boxes working correctly, and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
  4. Collect hourly rental fees and provide change for customers needing smaller bills for the token machine.
  5. Pick up litter and empty trash around the batting cage facility area.
  6. Answer the telephone and greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  7. Empty token boxes at the end of each night.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to give correct change and operate pitching machines, including uncovering and covering them each shift.
  • Ability to understand written and oral instructions in English.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and standard repair tasks.
  • Professional interaction with the public and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks.
Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
Hiring Prerequisites
  • Drug screening with negative results.
Required Documentation
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
  • PA State Police Criminal Record History.
  • FBI Fingerprint-based Background Check.
