Job summary

A123 Systems is seeking a Battery Test Technician to evaluate safety, reliability, and performance of cells, modules, and packs. You will operate specialized lab equipment, monitor charge/discharge cycles, troubleshoot issues, and document data to ensure batteries meet engineering standards.

You will set up test beds, install sensors, disassemble packs after tests for failure analysis, and report findings to engineering teams while adhering to high-voltage safety protocols and handling hazardous

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or technical/associate's degree in Automotive, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in lab or high-performance testing is valued.
• Ability to read schematics and use measurement tools.
• High Voltage (HV) safety training or certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and collaboration with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and monitor battery test beds, cyclers, and environmental chambers for tests.
• Install sensors (voltage, temperature, pressure) and fabricate test equipment and wiring diagrams.
• Disassemble battery packs and modules post-test for failure analysis and inspection.
• Record and analyze test data and report findings to engineering teams.
• Adhere to strict HV safety protocols and handle hazardous materials and heavy equipment.
