Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Battery Test Engineer in Redmond, WA to own battery pack and PCBAs testing from requirements to final reporting. You will work cross-functionally to translate requirements into test objectives, develop test plans, build setups, and execute tests with comprehensive data analysis.

In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot, document results, and lead test readiness activities. Occasional travel up to 20% will be required as part of validating hardware readiness across

Qualifications

• Experience developing test strategies and plans for complex hardware/software systems or systems of systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of hardware test, validation, electrical test, battery testing, or related engineering discipline.
• Experience with electrical lab equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, DMMs, DAQs, battery cyclers, or similar instrumentation.
• Experience analyzing engineering test data and communicating technical conclusions.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical hardware, test equipment, instrumentation, or automated test systems.
• Experience documenting test procedures, results, failures, and engineering findings.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to collect and understand test requirements.
• Translate requirements into test objectives, cases, procedures, and pass/fail criteria.
• Develop and maintain test plans for battery packs, PCBAs, and battery management electronics.
• Design, build, configure, and validate test setups with lab equipment.
• Develop fixtures, harnesses, and basic test automation as needed.
• Lead readiness activities ensuring hardware, instrumentation, and procedures are ready.
• Execute diverse testing including electrical, functional, and environmental tests.
• Analyze data to identify trends, performance margins, and failure mechanisms.
• Document results with data traceability and clear conclusions.
• Generate final test reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Improve test methods and lab processes for quality and efficiency.
• Travel up to 20% nationally and internationally.
