Job summary

Qualifications

• Language Ability: Read and interpret safety rules and instructions; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups.
• Math Ability: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide, compute rates, ratios and percentages.
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of Internet software.
• Certificates/Licenses: Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and observe the truck to determine malfunction and plan procedures.
• Make mechanical repairs after inspection and analysis of breakdown.
• Write complete repair descriptions on work orders with model, serial number, and hour meter.
• Record battery information on work orders including specific gravity readings and load test results.
• Turn all paperwork into the shop service coordinator daily.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Reads work order and observes and listens to truck in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.
• Makes mechanical repairs to equipment after a complete inspection and analysis of breakdown has been completed.
• Write complete repair description on work order, including the correct model and the serial number of equipment and record hour meter reading.
• Record all pertinent battery information on work order, including specific gravity readings, load test results, etc.
• Turn all paperwork into the shop service coordinator daily. Includes work orders, time cards, etc.
